Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Cafe

Services were always wonderful, resturant menu changes seasonally. Our waiter Andrey was wondering the whole night, taking care of everyone’s need. On the night of December 9th, the floor manager displayed an unusual attitude—bitter and somewhat disengaged from his role. We sincerely hope not to encounter such a situation again. Garlic & herb marinated lamb rump, grilled polenta, summer vegetables ratatouille, juniper berry lamb sauce. Let’s just say, the lamb was perfectly cooked; my butter knife effortlessly glided through it. Pan-fried gnocchi, grilled vegetables, corn & ricotta veloute, puffed quinoa, basil pesto, shaved pecorino. The gnocchi was definitely made in-house —delicately crispy on the outside and irresistibly soft and flavorful with every bite. This dish truly delivers a burst of refreshing flavors. Keeping my review for the Vegetables, so glad they kept it on the new menu A standout was the sautéed seasonal vegetables at $14. A vibrant presentation, the mix of colorful veggies, including perfectly cooked carrots, delivered a juicy yet not overly soft texture. The dish was such a hit that even my kids were attempt to claim the whole dish for themselves.

This year during our vacation trip we decided to have Christmas dinner at Goldfinch. It was an excellent decision. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was exceptional. We even had a special anniversary request that they fulfilled despite the busy holiday crowd. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone we know traveling to or living in Brisbane.

Food Amazing. Delicious and one of best prawn pastas I have ever had. Staff and service extremely disappointing. Given wrong drinks. Very slow service and staff had trouble understanding English. Front of house Penny was brilliant though, they are lucky to have her in the team. Will give it another go in a few months as every restaurant has bad nights. Stayed at hotel, so reason for chosing restaurant.
